PRESTO -Project on Reduction of the Eutrophication of the Baltic Sea Today

Project on Reduction of the Eutrophication of the Baltic Sea Today (PRESTO) in the framework of Baltic Sea Region Programme, 2007-2013 was considered and approved by Monitoring Committee on June 7 -8, 2011 in Shwerin, Germany.  

Partner declaration was signed by Brest State Technical University on February 18, 2011.

Project objectives

Project implements the HELCOM Baltic Sea Action Plan’s Eutrophication Segment and its Recommendation 28E/5 on municipal wastewater treatment. PRESTO also puts into practice EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea region as a part of strategy’s flagship project 1.2. "Cleaner waste water. By targeting selected wastewater treatment plants, PRESTO aims at significant nutrient load reduction. PRESTO increases the competence of operating staff of the waste water treatment plants, plant designers and trainers of future wastewater engineers by organizing courses on modern waste water treatment, showing practical examples of reconstruction projects in their different stages and giving opportunities for exchange of information between waste water treatment specialists from Belarus and EU-member countries. PRESTO also includes activities to raise awareness on eutrophication and to strengthen the commitment to implement efficient ways to reduce nutrient load.


Open University Day

On November 4, 2018 the Open University Day with the motto “Make your choice and apply for BrSTU!” took a place at Brest State Technical University.

Results of the International Scientific Conference

On October 22 – 23 Państwowa Szkoła Wyższa im. Papieża Jana Pawła II w Białej Podlaskiej (Poland) hosted the International Scientific Conference "Reading and Writing Skills in the Educational Environment: Theory and Practice", which was held jointly with Uniwersytet Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej w Lublinie under the patronage of prof. Jozef Berger, Rector of Państwowa Szkoła Wyższa im. Papieża Jana Pawła II w Białej Podlaskiej.

2nd International Conference on Current Research Problems of Materials, Structures, Technologies and Organization of Civil Engineering in Cross-Border Approach will be held in BrSTU

The English for Specific Purposes Training took place in BrSTU on May, 12th-13th, 2016.

The Training was held under the Erasmus+ Project “Library Network Support Services (LNSS): modernising libraries in Armenia, Moldova and Belarus through library staff development and reforming library services”.

DAAD invites applications for a summer school in Essen

The summer school, funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)  will start with visits to European Institutions in  Strasburg, followed by llectures and presentations in Essen and last from 22.08. - 31.08.2016.

Application deadline: 05.02.2016.

Working language is English.

Travel costs and costs foe stay are covered by DAAD
