The English for Specific Purposes Training took place in BrSTU on May, 12th-13th, 2016.

The Training was held under the Erasmus+ Project “Library Network Support Services (LNSS): modernising libraries in Armenia, Moldova and Belarus through library staff development and reforming library services”.

The partners from Limerick Institute of Technology, Mr. Padraig Kirby, Senior Library Assistant and Mr. Jerald Cavanagh, Institute Librarian, delivered to BrSTU library staff several lectures concerning theoretical and practical aspects of modern library web sites designing, online platforms and portals, online public access catalogues, library mobile applications ("M-libraries"), web 2.0 technologies and social media for libraries, electronic documents delivery and inter library loans using LibGuides for library research,  virtual reference and ask a librarian services, etc.

These are the up-to-date trends and technologies introduced in the libraries of Western Europe that allow them to maintain their relevance for the readers (students and university teachers).

The current stage of the Project implementation is aimed at the professional development of the librarians from the Partner Countries. The libraries reorganization along with the introduction of the new technologies and technical equipment are expected results of the LNSS Project.
