FIRST WEEK
Welcome to Brest!
The city of Brest is the third oldest city in Belarus. First mentioned in 1019 the city became a shopping center and a fortress on the border of Poland and Lithuania in the XI century. The city is located at the crossroads of two trade routes connecting Brest with Western Europe and the Middle East.
The historical center of Brest is a residential and administrative area of the XIX-early XX centuries’ buildings.
Today Brest is one of the industrial centers of Belarus. It is also the largest transport hub and cultural center with rich historical past and interesting folk traditions.

17.07.19 Brest Hero-Fortress Memorial Complex is the largest monument in the post-Soviet space dedicated to the courage of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War. The ruins of an old fortress, battle sites, monumental sculptural compositions are represented in a single architectural and artistic ensemble.
The exposition of the “Museum of Defense” has about 4 thousand different kinds of exhibits. A common idea through all the halls is enclosed in letters and excerpts from the letters of direct participants of the war. The black and light background of the photos carries the thought of the loss that war brings to all living things. The main theme of the museum exposition is the defense of the Brest Fortress in June-July 1941.
20.07.19 The National Park “Belovezhskaya Pushcha” is the largest remnant of the relic primeval plain forest which, according to the ideas developed in modern science, grew in prehistoric times in Europe. Belovezhskaya Pushcha is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List (for more information see https://npbp.by/).
21.07.19 Park "Polyanka" - a beautiful coniferous forest; its clean and fresh air will fill you with energy and help you forget about the bustle of the city. A calm river, a mysterious island in the center of the bay, squirrels and hedgehogs - everything is meant to please the eye. We offer laser tag and rope camp, football and volleyball, trampoline and other games in the fresh air (for more information see http://repark.by/).

Bus tour: Castles of Belarus – Mir and Nesvizh |
28.07.19 The Mir Castle Complex is a unique monument of the national culture of Belarus. In 2000, Mir Castle was included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List.
The palace and park ensemble of the XVI-XIX centuries Nesvizh. is located in the northeast of the city. The initiative to build a stone castle belongs to the first Nizhvizhsky ordinate Nicholas Christopher Radziwill “The Orphan” (1549–1616). After the events of 1812, the castle was in a neglected state until 1875. Large-scale restoration work began to be carried out only in the last quarter of the 19th - early 20th centuries.
The palace was taken under state protection in 1939. In 2012 restoration was completed and exhibition halls were opened for visitors.
